Living 9000 miles away from home in North Dakota, away from my family and friends, trying to raise a 3-year-old is tough. But my real struggle was raising a daughter who would be proud of her color, culture, language, and heritage.

Crafting was our way of connecting- after not being able to find any hands-on products that would reflect me, my identity and my language…I said..why not make it….why not share it??

Through crafts, I celebrate my culture, community, and language. I love sharing my craft skills because it inspires others and brings happiness. Crafting helps people connect with each other and that spreads joy.

Whether you're a mom, grandmom, aunt this place is for you!

I will do my best to provide you with the supplies and inspiration you need to start making festivals and celebrations fun for you and your family.

My reason for starting was simple - why not?

Why not have craft products that reflect us? Why not have crafting kits that use Islamic vocabulary? Why not make Islamic festivals more mainstream?

So, here I am, sharing it all.

You can call me Durratussharaf, aka the 'girl with a very long name' or a perpetual outlander or may be modern day nomad.
